I hadnt seen patriot for a very long time and tonight it was on, so purely for JI I watched it.

Tavington is gorgeous and the best acted character in the film, JI put everything in to this role. I could go on, those eyes, the hair you guys know the rest.

The film it self annoys me beyond belief, actually that isn't fair, Mel Gibson annoys me beyond belief, this is braveheart set in a different period, and part of the Mel Gibson period of boosting himself almost to a god like status, there are another 2 films I think after this which are Braveheart all over again but in differant periods.

Anyway back to Tavvington, he is a great character and although I don't like the film just for him it is well worth watching

Soule, apologies if you've already read it, but my small response to Mel's grandiosity is here: http://www.jasonisaacsonline.com/page9.html

Personally I think that Mel Gibson is good in the film, but (of course) I have to agree that Tavington is gorgeous and the best acted character.

Soule....I agree with you. Can't stand Mel Gibson. But Jason was fantastic.

I prefer to look at Col. Tavington over Gen. Lord Cornwallis any day.
Because at least he fough like a man, and not hide behind his men, like a total wussy. :bat ~marilaine
(No offense to Tom Wilkinson.....he did a great job in 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' :???: )

I hate the character Cornwallis (funny, he reminds me of my uncle- his looks not the personality).
He sounds like an arrogant, bitter old man to me. And he blames Tavington for everything, I can't stand Cornwallis. LOL!

If I'm not mistaken, Ben Martin, approached him(Cornwallis), Tavington did NOT send him, so who the H*ll does he think he is blaming it on him. Boo! Hiss! (Somebody hand me my WAND! :bat )

I think the Patriot is the most aired movie on cable here, seriously.

Not that it's a bad thing, I never get tired of seeing my colonel, he's the love of my life (LOL) but, well....why don't they air Brotherhood too?
And I wanna watch other JI movies... Image

I've actually found myself rooting for Tavington when he's speaking to Cornwallis. (Much better looking, too. Heh! Hehe! :liplick)
BTW, Angel,if you go to http.//s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc78/moonflowerlady/th_Cookies.gif[/img], hopefully, you'll be able to see that image I was bragging about....it's just too funny! ~marilaine

Hated the movie but loved Jason. He's the only good thing about the movie. I guess it's because I dislike Mel Gibson and think he's overrated. His acting pales before Jason's . Truefully Jason walked all over him.

I wonder.....if MTV had him nominated for "Best Villain" in their movie awards.....that is, if it was even thought of at the time...... ;-)
~marilaine  Cuz I know I'd vote for him.
