Jason always manages to humanize a part.
I totally agree!

First, the bad news. The UltraStar Cinemas over here put movies on Discount All Day Tuesday prices ($5.50) after they've been in theaters a few weeks and when the No Passes restriction is lifted. This is the first time I have ever seen them put the discount on after 4 days. Green Zone was discounted today. DH and I went to the 5:15 show.

Now, the good news. There were more than 50 people in the audience, and there was a good smattering of applause at the end. Hopefully, word of mouth will help turn this movie around.

I was surprised at how much Briggs shows up in the movie. It was a lot more than I was expecting. To my mind, he was in a good 20-25 minutes in scenes that ran for quite a while. Jason was suitably singleminded in staying on Miller. I hated that he was Poundstone's henchman.

Oh, and, Briggs was dead. His eyes did not move when the camera went back to him.

Like everyone else, I won't pay to see it again (even $5.50) but will get the DVD.

I got you beat on the price Helen. Our theater has any movie shown before noon for only $4.00. Ken and I were going to go see it Friday night but I was tired so we went Sat at the 10:45AM show. Great deal - they do that for all films no matter if they are brand new or not.

Not bad $8.00 for two people!!

It used to be $4.00, but over the course of a year, it went to $5.00 and has now settled at $5.50. All this during the Great Recession!

Saw it this afternoon by myself. I t was in one of the larger theater in the complex but there were 4 people there including me :-(

I agree Jason was in there more than I expected. He was great as usual.
Another notch of death scene on his belt. LOL

Have seen the movie only at my local indie cinema (all tickets $6). All sessions I've been at have been at least half full which is pretty good. Although it wasn't screened in the largest cinema, good number of people viewing it. Haven't seen what it's like at the weekend as yet (always a busy time at the movies).

Saw it today. I must have a sensitive stomach because I was nauseated the entire movie (shaky cam), but determined to stay til the end. Wouldn't have done it for anyone but Jason (who, BTW, was terrific, as always). ;-)

I saw it the day it was released, at a theater whose matinee (shows before 6pm)shows are $4. But, small coke, and small popcorn were also $4 each. But, it was a decent size. (Gobbled that up before the movie even started)

Good to know you stayed til the end, wolfsaver. I went with my sister to see it again tonight. She enjoyed it and thought Matt Damon was excellent as was Jason. Her only problem is that Matt keeps taking roles where he doesn't smile as he has a lovely smile.

She ended up with a headache due to the queasycam and I have to admit that I'm not feeling the best either. It has been almost a week since I saw it last.

She could see where the plot was heading and kept asking me what was being said (sometimes it was difficult to decipher the dialogue to the background noise) so I explained a couple of things to her.

Should I see it again before it finishes?

Thanks. The only way to describe the jerky, hand-held camera movements when following people. Why couldn't they have been more like The West Wing LOL.

OK, I FINALLY watched GZ and really enjoyed it!!

The shaky cam didn't bother me in the least. This movie was pure adrenaline from the beginning to end, I didn't get bored while watching it and couldn't take my eyes off of the screen for a minute. Jason's acting was superb (he did Briggs very well), loved the yank accent! And our man showed up in the movie more than I was expecting.

(and although I'm not sure if I'm going to see it again in the theater, I will probably pick it up on DVD)
