'Detective' genre is just not the right word for Case Histories anyway. OK, Jackson starts off technically as a private detective in the first book, but he isn't any longer by the second, and it hardly defined him in the first - he simply fell into it after the police and the army. Misfortune just seems to happen around him and he is compelled to help and pick up the pieces (well, he compels himself as much as anything). And 'Awake', as you say, is presumably going to focus on the dual realities he is forced to deal with.

But, you know, he's getting great work, simple as that. And, as an actor, you never know when the phone's going to stop ringing. He's lucky that at the moment he can be relatively choosy. But he's also clearly aware that he can't be too proud when it comes to waiting for the ideal roles. His talent and his humility combine to enable him to strike a very happy balance. Long may it continue.

.
The Jackson Brodie books weren't in the Mystery/crime/detective section of my bookstore, they were in the fiction section.

And the most important aspect of Awake seems to be the double life that is being lived by a man who happens to be a detective.

Here's an excellent article from The Scotsman. WOW, four pages long.

It's taken before Jason did his dip in the Forth near the bridges in January. Braver man than I, LOL.

Enjoy!

Laurielove ..... It evens itself out. You tell us about Case Histories and we tell you about Awake.
That's what friends are for.

Damn, I'll have to wait to watch it on BBC iplayer when I get home tomorrow night. It will be showing in the UK when I'm getting ready for work. :???:

The suspense all day will be killing me. AND I said I'd go to the movies as well after work. So looks like a late evening viewing's for me.

Can't wait to hear the reviews from the UK ladies.

It's okay laurielove, don't feel bad....I don't have easy access to his work but the contribution of the members on this site allows me to keep up with the latest news and updates. I'm glad to be a part of this group.

Don't worry, Laurielove... that's just the way it is. If it's American or British TV, I live in the wrong country anyway, so I'm used to the waiting.

And even if it doesn't seem like it, we have other things to do in our lives to fill the void ;-)

Looking forward to read what you think about it.

What a lovely bunch you are!! :yip

It's been half-term here so my kids have been staying up far too late. School again tomorrow. I'm going to make sure they're in bed by half-seven AT THE LATEST tonight. By the time nine comes along they will have been in the land of Nod for at least an hour. Yup. Absolutely. No question. It will happen.

:pig

Five hours, one minute and counting.
