no worries, Angel....many Google alerts are duplicates, where they are just repeating
the same info that's already been made available.....

Just got the new TV Guide, 10-16 Oct., with a nice little article about Case Histories on PBS that Sunday, the 16th, at 9:00.

It begins (and the boldfacing is mine):

"Everyone seems to want Jackson Brodie on their case. And as played with seductively wry charisma by Jason Isaacs . . ., you can see why." :wheee

Would someone, with more time, root out the article to link here for the rest of it?

Saw it in my copy. Looked for it on the TV Guide website to get a link but couldn't find it.

I guess if they had all the articles online, nobody would subscribe to the print version.

I tried a search on the site, but all I got was a link to watch it online from Netflix.

Hi All,

I am not sure if anyone saw this, but there is a little teaser on PBS for the first episode of Mystery! (my apologies if I am double posting).

*Clasps fingers together. Cracks knuckles.*

Okay. Gonna type the article, dictated by DH:

Man of Mystery

Everyone seems to want Jackson Brodie on their case. And as played with seductively wry charisma by Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies and the star of NBC's midseason Awake), you can see why. The hero of a series of acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, adapted into 3 Masterpiece Mystery! movies (through October 30). Brodie is an ex-cop-turned-private eye in Edinburgh, with a broken marriage and a cash-poor practice. But he's delightful company, as he continually stumbles into overlapping mysteries that cleverly dovetail in satisfying and surprising ways.

In the highly entertaining Case Histories, Brodie's altruistic good deed for a dotty old cat lady (Sylvia Syms) leads him into a cold case involving a little girl who vanished 30 years ago. He's also enlisted by a grieving father to solve his daughter's brutal murder, though the police are still investigating. A request to locate another long lost girl dredges up a new set of family skeletons.

Brodie's cases tend to dwell as much on mysteries of the heart as on the usual blood and guts. It's a nice change.

Wonderful, Helen, you must thank him for us. :D

And just a gentle reminder, as if we need one...

"Masterpiece Mystery" 8 p.m., CDT... PBS: "Harry Potter's" Jason Isaacs portrays Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie investigating murder and missing persons. Of course that would be 9:00 P.M. EDT....

Good thing it doesn't start until next week. Power kept going on and off last night and it takes so long for the cable box to re-boot. What awful weather.

All the cruise ships leaving from FLL had problems yesterday, Marie. Freedom of the Seas reported listing badly they had to cancel 2nd seating dinner. Things crashed down from shelves in the galley and the gift shops were full of debris from broken stuff. That passing storm must have been bad.

Sorry off topic discussion. :bag:

Helen, any nice pictures of Mr. Brodie on TV Guide?

Ok, I've posted this on facebook and added to the thread on the other board. A couple of takers so far, including someone who said she'd never have known about it if I hadn't updated the thread. I am considering posting another comment in a couple of days just to keep the thread near the top.

Is that wrong?
