New project: Happy Family (voice)

Isaacs will play Dracula, who falls in love with Watson's character and has a witch turn her into a vampire. The spell goes wrong, though, and the woman and her whole family are transformed into their own monstrous Halloween costumes. She rejects Dracula's advances, choosing to stay with her, now monstrous, family, setting Dracula into a rage. He plots to destroy the world.
Sounds like a fun movie to me. :D

Well, the title doesn't suggest anything like what the description is. :scratch Dracula, huh? I just watched a program on PBS, Secrets of the Dead, where they discuss the "legend" of Dracula and how people in Eastern Europe actually believe that vampires exist, and there are rituals that they perform to this day to rid their families of the vampires' presence. Sounds like the movie won't take THAT route. Or maybe it will. Many of Jason's characters have had grizzly deaths. :gah:

Happy Family is a 3-D animated (not really 3-D--the same animating technique used in Frozen) movie, presumably intended for children.
I had the same response to reading the synopsis, though--sounded like something along the lines of Stockholm, PA! :-(

Yes, this part sounds like something else entirely.

If Dracula played by Jason made advances to me, I certainly wouldn't say no!

But as this is an animation intended for family viewing, I don't expect the full Hammer Horror sexy version of Dracula, and the drawings might well be very disappointing. But I am hoping for a very good voice performance along the lines of Jeremy Irons in The Lion King.

:scratch It still sounds like a fun family movie to me... I think Emily Watson plays the mother in the family, not the daughter.
I found some info in German about the book here, but I suspect they have changed the plot some for the movie. http://www.davidsafier.de/david-safier- ... amily.html Looks like Dracula may have a bigger part in the movie, but what do I know. My German is really bad as well, to take everything I say with a pinch of salt.

New Animated movie Happy Family

Post by Tosca Nini » Thu Mar 09, 2017 7:40 am

Happy Family is now appearing in Jason Isaacs IMDb profile, as being in post-production.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6572702/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3

It has a release date of 17 August 2017. In Germany...

It even has a poster and a few photos (no Dracula... that is, JI).

So, it appears it will be released (?)

Thanks for posting, Tosca. I had completely forgotten about this. Glad it's gonna come out eventually.

Here's what we talked about when we first heard about it (in case some other than me also need to refresh their memory  ):

Thank you for linking to the original topic, thunder. I couldn't find it, so I made a new one. Didn't occur to me to use something called "search" :tchuh:

A link to the new animated movie Happy Family. We can see Jason's character (Dracula) dubbed in German and Spanish. But not in the English trailer...

Anyway, it'll be out soon.

Quite liked it!!! :D :D :D

I hope it comes out in time for the summer here in the US. Don't want to miss the kids-driven numbers at the box office.

Too bad Jason didn't do the Spanish-language version. Would have been nice to hear him voice his character.

The literal translation of Wünschmann is request man. Just thought I'd throw that in.

Well. It says, "Coming this Halloween." So. Maybe. Late October?
