I have Seen It.
Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers
OK I have just seen the DVD and before i start I need to add a couple of caveats; I do not enjoy disaster movies, I have never seen The Towering Inferno, Jurassic Park or Titanic along with gory horror movies it is just not my thing and to be honest I have been rather anxious about seeing this but as it seems to be tricky for many of the Lost Girls to see I took one for the team so to speak.
Jason is brilliant as usual, his character has a decent but certain aspects struck me. He is out of the film by about two thirds of the movie and one stunt looked really uncomfortable for him (hope it was a stunt man).
Simon West's direction is strong, plenty of thrills and CGI and you do feel that you are on the island as all the chaos unfurls. The cast is great although I know none of them and the father daughter dynamic works well.
The concept is where I struggled with the question why would someone build a resort on a live and still very active volcanic island , a comment on big business perhaps.
Most of the film is subtitled so if we were living in more normal times I have no idea whether it would find an audience in the west.
Overall a daft but effective disaster movie.
In the end I am the wrong person to review it first. As Jason fans it is worth seeing but do not expect a great deal of screen time I think he has six to eight scenes in a 1 hour 30 min movie.

Re: I have Seen It.
LOL - he told us he was very attracted to the idea of being in this beautiful location that it was supposed to be filmed at. He was excited to go there. Then when they were ready to film they told him - good news Jason - we now have access to the studio sound stage (it was busy but the schedule changed) so we won’t have to film on location - isn’t that great! Poor Jason! As Jason fans it is worth seeing but do not expect a great deal of screen time I think he has six to eight scenes in a 1 hour 30 min movie.
I want to see this. Popcorn movie - and my husband who loves B grade adventure films will enjoy it!
Wish Amazon US would sell it - NOW!

Re: I have Seen It.
The Chinese actors that are in it are huge stars in China. So it is really their vehicle and not Jason’s.

Must admit I enjoyed it actually was quite moved by Jack's final speech.
I think you will all enjoy it. LOL at Jason mentioning he filmed most of his scenes on the sound stage when he thought he would be on location.

Having a watch party with Marie right now
Re: I have Seen It.
Well, we enjoyed it. The scenery is beautiful, the actors are good. The story..ehr, hard to believe.
Jason was good although he wasn’t in it that much.
Spoilers..
Have to say the ‘dead again’ scene was the first of its kind.

I still do not know how Jason wasn't hurt flying across the hotel lobby.

Re: I have Seen It.
I had to laugh a little at how accurate the volcanic projectiles were at aiming towards cars and certain people. Plus they were all rather huge!
The car driving backwards would be difficult to do if the road was perfect - never mind ruts and lava!! LOL
But overall a good popcorn movie! Just leave your logic at the door and enjoy.

Re: I have Seen It.
It's on it's way, so as long as it doesn't get lost in the mail, and that the used DVD is able to play, I will see it in the end.
